Jill Hope was born and raised in a small town outside of Edinburgh, Scotland. When she moved to America, she brought with her a wealth of dance experience and an undeniable love of all things dance. She began her first dance instruction in Ballet at age two. Within two years, she was taking Scottish Highland Dance and Tap, under the instruction of Robertia Sey of Pencuik Dance School. Jill would subsequently add Jazz & Modern to her repertoire. Throughout her youth she simultaneously studied dance at two separate schools, Pencuik Dance School and the Donna Browne School of Dance. She competed in multiple Scottish Highland Dance competitions every year, while also sitting her annual SOHDA Highland Dance exams. She performed in musicals such as ‘Kiss Me Kate’ and ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’ through the St. Michael’s YC Music Society in Edinburgh. Throughout her 17 years of formal dance instruction, Jill danced, trained, choreographed, and mentored. She gained an appreciation for the beauty and joy of dance that has simply never dwindled.
Jill is now established in the Mount Washington Valley and joined the Creative Sole family in 2014. She teaches Advanced Tap, Jazz, Scottish Highland Dance, & Celtic fusion. Jill is also a PiYo Live Instructor and holds classes at the Studio.
Karen Richardson grew up in East Wakefield, NH and brings her small town values, love of children, and her management experience to Creative Sole. Her first job was babysitting, followed by over 15 years of retail management, and she now runs her own Thirty-one business. She loves interacting with the public, especially as ‘Studio Mama’ to all of the Creative Sole dancers. Karen has two Creative Sole dancers of her own, while her husband has been in the military since 2014. Not only does she keep the Creative Sole family going, she’s also the foundation for her own loving family.
